2017 Partnership Conference
“Racial Reconciliation and
Cultural Diversity in the Church”
About this conference
What does Scripture say about racial reconciliation? How does the Gospel address the sinful human conditions of racial prejudice and stereotyping, racism, and xenophobia? What role ought churches play in racial reconciliation and in marketplace dialogues about race in our society? How ought we value and actively embrace cultural diversity in Metanoia Church?
When it comes to responding to questions like these, we must remember that God speaks to issues of race and culture in His Word. We are not naïve to think that we will solve the racial and cultural challenges that we face as a church and as a society in one conference. However, during this year’s Partnership Conference, we will lay a solid, Gospel-centered, Biblical groundwork for moving forward as a church where we live, work, play, and worship.
About our guest speaker
We are delighted to have as our guest speaker Michael Crawford, State Director of Missions for the Baptist Convention of MD/DE and Lead Pastor of Freedom Church in Baltimore. Michael is passionate about racial reconciliation and about cultural diversity in the church. In addition to his responsibilities as a pastor and as the church planting strategist for our state Baptist network, Michael hosts regular dialogue sessions for Christian leaders to discuss and pray about current challenges and issues surrounding race and diversity.
