Beyond the Flood: Engaging our Community with Prayer, Passion, and Proclamation”
Metanoia Church Partners are invited to attend this year’s Partnership Conference!
About the Conference
Metanoia was planted with the mission to start an evangelistic, Bible-focused, Gospel-centered church for the historic district of Ellicott City. While this mission in/to/for Ellicott City is our church’s corporate focus, we also scatter throughout the week for more diverse missions as Community Groups, individuals, and families. Central to fruitful mission in all the contexts where God places us to serve Him are prayer, passion, and proclamation.
PRAYER
Our church entered a month-long emphasis on prayer in October 2017. Without prayer, we will never see a powerful movement of God among the lost in our area. How can we nurture a culture where bold prayer is the norm and the powerful work of God visible?
PASSION
Our church is not short on passion. Many of our Partners are passionate about a wide variety of things including sound doctrine, care for the poor, healthy families, racial justice, education reform, adoption and foster care, political activism, and global missions. When it comes to our varied and diverse passions, how do we encourage one another, equip one another, and engage with one another?
PROCLAMATION
Our church exists to make new disciples and grow as disciples. This involves regularly proclaiming the Gospel to the lost and to one another. How can we encourage the regular proclamation of the Gospel, stir the waters of baptism, and see life transformation?
During our conference we will explore the role of prayer, passion, and proclamation in our mission.
Our Guest Speaker: Ellen Udovich
We are delighted to have as our guest speaker Ellen Udovich. Many of us know Ellen from her leadership with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief efforts in Ellicott City flood relief in 2016. Ellen serves as a consultant for Community Engagement with the Baptist Convention of MD/DE (BCM/D), helping to amplify the impact of evangelism ministries in churches through evangelism training, disaster preparedness, coaching, and support. She enjoys teaching Christians to be “on mission” in their daily lives, living by example, and using everyday opportunities to show the love of Christ to those around them.
Prior to ministering with the BCM/D, Ellen served with the Baltimore Baptist Association as director of church and community ministries, supervising the Baltimore Baptist Port ministry; summer sports evangelism clinics, and Canton Baptist Center. She also recruited and oversaw mission teams and volunteers serving in Baltimore. She holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Social Work from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
