Become a Lowly but Lovely Church

Philippians 2:5-8 | December 17th, 2023

In Philippians 2:5-8 the Apostle Paul encourages the church to keep seeking unity through humility as they look to their servant and Savior, Jesus Christ. Specifically he encourages God's people to think highly of Jesus, live humbly with each other, and die hopefully knowing that Christ has risen and in him we have new life and new ways of life as well. 

Be Selfless Brothers and Sisters

Philippians 2:1-4 | December 10th, 2023

In Philippians 2:1-4 the Apostle Paul encourages the church to seek unity through humility as they look to Christ Jesus together. In so doing, they will think less about me (self), more about we (church), and always about He (God). 

Live Worthy of the Gospel

Philippians 1:27-30  | December 3rd, 2023

The Apostle Paul commends the church to live worthy of the gospel of Christ. Such a church stands of the grace of Christ Jesus and seeks to live uniquely instead of worldly as citizens of heaven on earth, united as saints, and unafraid as heralds of salvation even amidst secular society. 

Live for the Lord

Philippians 1:18b-26  | November 12th, 2023

In Philippians 1:18-26 the Apostle Paul clarifies the purpose of life as knowing and making known Christ. These verses show us how the grace of God help us love for the glory of God in supernatural confidence, selfless and courageous love, as well as steadfast commitment with the church. 

Minister with the Right Motives

Philippians 1:15-18a  | November 5th, 2023

In Philippians 1:15-18a the Apostle Paul encourages the church to minister with the right motivations. These motivations are driven from knowing Christ and get lived out in encouragement instead of envying, being selfless instead of selfish, and faithful instead of fearful. 

Persevere by God's Power

Philippians 1:12-14  | October 29th, 2023

In Philippians 1:12-14 the Apostle Paul updates the church to lift up their hearts and collectively persevere by God's power. He encourages them to see God's sovereignty, speak about God's Son, and strengthen the other saints along the way. 

Lean on the Lord (part 2)

Psalm 127:3-5  | October 22nd, 2023

In Psalm 127:3-5 King Solomon encourages us to appreciate God's gift in children, aim them on mission, and anticipate future provision as He continues to build the house of people who praise His name.

Lean on the Lord (part 1)

Psalm 127:1-2  | October 15th, 2023

In Psalm 127 King Solomon invites God's people to lean on the Lord in all of life. He starts off the Psalm by helping us realize who the Lord is and how knowing the Lord enables us to rest and work as an overflow of worship.

In Philippians 1:9-11 Paul prays for God's people to be devoted to one another in life, discerning and wise in life, and dedicated to the pursuit of God's glory because of God's grace.

In Philippians 1:7-8 the Apostle Paul encourages a loving church community by exuding his love for the Lord's people via proclaiming thanksgiving, partnering  in the gospel, and prioritizing a ministry of presence even if not immediately possible.

The Apostle Paul encourages us to have confidence in Christ's work through the church because God is sovereign, steadfast, and certain to complete what He has begun. 

Cherish the Church

In Philippians 1:3-5 the Apostle Paul pours out his heart to God in thanksgiving for the church. Likewise, we are encouraged to cherish the church by praying, praising, and partnering for the purpose of knowing and making known the gospel.
